One Shared World

About Us

One Shared World is an AED campaign to raise awareness of global poverty and make it a vital part of the American dialog — especially among working women. Why women?

Whether we realize it or not, women in America are not so different from women in cities, towns and villages in every corner of the globe. We share similar struggles, joys and hopes. And we all want to build a better future for ourselves, our families and our communities.

AED, building on an investment by USAID, sustains One Shared World to show how supporting progress in one area pays off in others. Educating girls, for example, helps foster more resilient families, prevent diseases like HIV/AIDS, open up better jobs that pay higher wages — making communities, societies and our world healthier, safer and richer.

One Shared World opens a door for America’s women to learn more, connect more and do more to make our one shared world a better one. Our focus: health, education and economic progress.
